Which demo matches your task?

Project Lens highlights paragraphs according to a project you describe. Got It? generates a quiz from the article you are reading. Opera presents these as experimental examples of WebAI, not as built-in features guaranteed in every GX installation. Both require a browser with the necessary local AI enabled. Verify that prerequisite before adding either one.

WebAI is an early preview. Opera’s press release says Opera One first, with GX and Neon to follow; its blog describes a preview across all three. Check the WebAI setting and the official playground in your own GX version before relying on it. The steps below apply only when your browser reports support.

This is a source-based guide with suggested exercises, not a hands-on benchmark. Diagrams show our workflow, not screenshots of the browser.

Try one extension at a time

  1. First complete the WebAI support check. An extension being listed in the store does not establish that the model can run on your device.
  2. Follow the official Opera add-ons link in the sources below. Check the extension name, the Opera Software publisher and the requested permissions before choosing to install.
  3. Open a public, text-based guide without personal information. Use an article you understand so you can evaluate whether the extension is doing something helpful.
  4. For Project Lens, give a focused project such as learning the preparation steps before a first session. For Got It?, read the article, then use its quiz to check recall. The exact interface can change during the preview.
  5. Compare the output with the page. Keep only the extension that helps your task; use the browser’s extensions management screen to disable or remove an experiment you no longer want.

A reading exercise with Star Stable

Choose a horse-training or racing guide and first list the topics you need: preparation, route familiarity and a short practice session. With Project Lens, see whether the highlights help find those parts rather than distracting from them. With Got It?, answer without reopening the article, then return to the relevant paragraphs. This is our suggested exercise, not a report that these extensions were tested on every Star Stable page.

  1. Decide whether you need to find information or remember it.
  2. Check the official extension and permissions.
  3. Use one public article you understand.
  4. Compare the result with that article.

When the result is not useful

Highlighting is not a reliability score. A paragraph may match your project but contain an outdated claim. A generated question can also be ambiguous or omit a condition. Treat both outputs as invitations to read the source carefully. If the page is mostly a video, image gallery or login screen, choose a clear text article for the first exercise. Do not grant additional access just to force an unsuitable page to work.

Should I install every demo?

No. Start with the one matching your task. Adding more extensions makes it harder to identify the cause of errors or unnecessary resource use.

Does a store listing mean the feature is ready in my GX build?

No. Browser version, device support, local-model availability and permissions still need to be checked separately.
